Music Supervisor SIMON KOGLER As music and sound design are crucial to the themes of Red Light August, Simon Kogler of Monochrome Sounds has been recruited to consult on the soundtrack. With a background in club concept design and artist promotions in Australia, Kogler has five years experience in the record industry in London (UK) with Sony Music and Rhythm King Records, and as consultant to Arista UK, all in the field of artist sourcing, development and placing within the European and Asia Pacific markets. Now based in New York, Kogler is Music Supervisor on several projects with SoHo-based Simian Pictures Productions NYC. He is dedicated to a free-flowing form of adapting sounds and electronic-based music to film, and is currently commissioned as Videographer and Sound Designer to a digital film venture with Manhattan on-line broadcast company Pseudo Communications. As the President of the newly formed Monochrome Sounds independent record label, Kogler scours the independent film scene looking for remarkable projects that might benefit from his expertise in film soundtrack assembly. Kogler has put together a series of tracks for Red Light August that both enervate the film's dance club sequences, and stand as a metaphor for the dark, cyclical obsessions of its protagonist. Associate Producer/2nd Music Consultant A native of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, Kai Bau-Madsen first worked with Jeff Gomez in 1997, when Jeff brought his City Knightsª project to Image Refinery Productions. Under intense deadline pressure, Kai produced an atmospheric musical score for the seven minute video that has never failed to impress. Jeff returned to Kai with Red Light August, hoping Kai's expertise in the Philadelphia electronic music scene would lend credence to the production. Jeff got much more than he bargained for when Kai also donated the use of his Park City, Utah condominium as a vital base of operations for the movie's assault during the Sundance Film Festival! |
