Geoffrey Orthwein (Co-Producer)

One of the founding members of Zealous Pictures Inc., Geoffrey Orthwein has worked in the film industry for seven years, both in America and on the international level. After spending two years in the exhibition and promotions fields, including working at Columbia Pictures in New York, Mr. Orthwein moved into production while in London, England. There, he worked at Thwaack Productions. He assisted in brainstorming and production of music videos, including Blackbox's smash-hit, "Good Vibration". From there Mr. Orthwein moved on to the feature film department of NFH Productions, whose credits include the Oscar-winning "Dangerous Liaisons" and "Buster," – one of the highest grossing British films of all time. There he worked in the office of Norma Heyman, producer of "Dangerous Liaisons", starring Glenn Close and Michelle Pfeiffer, and "Mary Reilly" starring Julia Roberts and John Malkovich. While at NFH, Mr. Orthwein was involved in the post-production of "The Secret Agent" at Shepperton Studios, working with producer Norma Heyman and Oscar-winning director Christopher Hampton.

In the spring of 1997 Mr. Orthwein and co-writer Andrew Sullivan came together to write a screenplay. From this collaboration came not only the inspiration to form Zealous Pictures Inc, but the feature screenplay for "Rock, Paper, Scissors", which Zealous is currently developing. The company's first endeavor, "Red Light August", was screened an unprecedented three times at the prestigious Slamdunk Film Festival in Park City UT, and was the closing night film at the Hollywood Shorts Film Festival in Hollywood, CA.

Geoffrey Orthwein is a graduate from Boston University's College of Communications. In addition to producing "Red Light August", Mr. Orthwein is the writer-director of five short films, including the acclaimed "Fishtail." He also is the co-author and co-director of an original play entitled "Crossing Bifrost".
